The Best Night

With soft spoken lyrics and accompanying synths, this track aims to remind you of that party with that guy/girl (whose name you may or may not have forgotten) that you hoped would never, ever end.

Fan Death - The Best Night

An oldie, but a goodie. The Toxic Avenger takes Pomomofo's glittery, chiptune, mario-world track Island, cuts up all the vocals (so that you can't tell what the hell is being said), adds some signature distortion, and a secret ingredient that makes you want to defenestrate* someone.

Pomomofo - Island (The Toxic Avenger Remix)

*
Defenestration - The act of throwing someone out a window.
How useless is that word?

La Musique

I don't have an inkling as to what is being said, apart from 'La Musique'. I assume it means 'the music'. I actually despised this song the first time I heard it, but, somehow, I've become quite fond of it. I don't even know exactly what I appreciate about it, but it really is a terrific song. Get it now.

Riot In Belgium - La Musique

"We walk around, pretending, we're all grown up. Hey Rich Girls!"

The Virgins - Rich Girls (The Twelves Remix)

The Twelves mixed with The Virgins. Does that make The Twelve Virgins? Just asking.

Crystal Castles Late For 11:30 Appointment

Up there as one of the best Crystal Castles remixes ever. With Crystal Castles' trademark 8-Bit chiptune chords and bass continually sparkling through, along with vocals pitched up-down-and-sideways, this is a haunting remix, courtesy of Ethan Kath.

GoodBooks - Leni (Crystal Castles Remix)

A galloping, in your face, remix of Danger's classic '11h30'. I think I might actually prefer this to the original. Kurtech is, surprisingly enough, an Aussie schoolkid (not me, look somewhere else, kid). Fair effort.

Danger - 11h30 (Kurtech Remix)

8-Bit Opera

An epic quest of a young knight, setting out to save his one true love from the Evil Warlock. He may come up against orcs, trolls, and even mighty dragons. This is a Super Nintendo game.

Here's the theme song.

Yellow Magic Orchestra - Rydeen

Signs

You know that feeling you get, when something nice gets turned into something nicer, yet is completely different? Like when you get soy beans, and turn it into tofu?
...
Okay. Bad Example.
Here's a better one.

Bloc Party - Signs (MMMatthias Remix)

Utilises the glockenspiel, bells, and soft vocals to maximum effect. Seriously good.

Emotronic

Emotronic? Is that what you call those emos who work at JB? No, you fool.
Emotronic is a genre of Electro that merged distortion, squealing glitch and melancholic lyrics. I think Emotronic died in 2007. But no matter. Enjoy the song.

The Secret Handshake - Too Young (The Toxic Avenger Remix)

The Uninvited Guest

Siriusmo is releasing his new EP, 'The Uninvited Guest'. How spiffy is the artwork? Big props to whoever made it, I kinda have a love of the colour red. Also love how it plays on the story of the 3 little pigs.

Okay, short story time. One of the tracks on this new EP goes by the name of 'The Door'. If you guys have been keeping up with my remix history, you would remember me making an ANNOYING remix, say, 6 months ago? It was this song. I made a remix of the song, 6 months before the song even came out! Pretty avant-garde, right kids?

Here's one of the new tracks. Nice, relaxing synths, with a title to match. It's not something that would instantly appeal to me, you have to give it time.

Siriusmo - Nights Off (Removed By Request)

One of his older ones. Short and sweet, this is a glitchy affair that one might aliken to Mr Oizo.

Siriusmo - Too Simple

Very Wav

I kinda have a thing for Late Of The Pier. You might even hear me whistling (very badly) some of their songs. Produced by the one and only Erol Alkan, this band blends the best of electro, with it's sick, dying genre of a cousin, indie.
I'm sure some of you kids would have cottoned on to them by now, and some of you might have even bought their impeccable debut album, 'Fantasy Black Channel'.
But I'm almost certain you guys don't have this. It's nothing special, but hey, now you can be the cool cat at school with this LOTP Japan-Only release track.

Luckier

Listening to this, can't you just imagine travelling somewhere on a bus, with your lover's head resting on your shoulder, and one of those warm, fuzzy feelings on the inside? I can. You should too.

Shazam - Luckier

Fast & Furious

I think that Fast & Furious comes out soon. Get the feeling it's gonna be crap compared to Tokyo Drift, mostly due to a lack of Japanese people.

This was the song on the advertisement. Lots of 'derrrs', 'barrrr', and 'yeahs'.

Does It Offend You, Yeah? - We Are Rockstars

Hold On

The Vanish are Midnight Juggernaughts meet Cut Copy. Electro-synth pop at it's best.

This would be the song you would hear if Midnight Juggernaughts kidnapped Cut Copy, and then hung them off the edge of a cliff.

The Vanish - Hold On

This would be the song you would hear if Cut Copy took Midnight Juggernaughts for a night out, and introduced them to some cute French girls.

The Vanish - I Don't Speak French

French Mustard

Mustard Pimp are out with a new track. For those who don't know, Mustard Pimp are an unsigned (perhaps because of their name) duo from France. Their latest effort is a mediocre attempt, but is still lotsa fun.

Mustard Pimp - Télésiège

One of their older remixes. Bit repetitive, but catchy as hell.

A1 Bassline - Bad Man Horror Theme (Mustard Pimp Remix)

Let's Work It Out!

Esser reminds me of a German city. Have no idea why, but who cares? I've had this remix for quite a while now, but I reckon you kids deserve a hear if you haven't had the chance already. It's a decent song until 1:44.

Listen. You'll see what I mean.

Take Down

Just had my first post removed. Kinda feel like that coffee cup up there. Smashed, shattered, emotional, used-to-be-full-of-coffee-but-now-not.

Anywho, I thought I'd share this track with you kids, I've had for a while. Cut Copy's smooth vocals merged with Bag Raiders' supreme rainbow-dance beats. Amazing.

Cut Copy - Far Away (Bag Raiders Remix)

Give Me The Proxy

Dark, heavy bass that slams you to the floor and beats you if you try to get up. Here's one of his more recent remixes.

Tiga - What You Need (Proxy Remix)

An old favourite of mine.

Digitalism - Homezone (Proxy Remix)

Rest In Peace Khun Yai. You were a good person.

Shoes

"What's that sound? I like that sound. I love that sound. It's the sound of my shoes."
Remix by Mr Oizo (Pronounced Monsieur Wah-Zoh) below. Glitched up, kinda like Erreur Jean.

Tiga - Shoes (Mr Oizo Remix)

Check out this take of Erreur Jean by Ireland's very own Arveene & Misk.

Mr Oizo - Erreur Jean (Arveene & Misk Remix)

By the way, sorry for the picture above only being of ONE shoe. I shall try not to disappoint you kids next time.

One Day

Might sound like crap at first, but keep listening. Surkin keeps it workin'.

Half Love

"And he's half in love with Elizabeth, and he's half in love with you."
Wooh! Good song. Get into it.

Mystery Jets - Half In Love With Elizabeth

"The bubble will, the bubble will burst, the bubble will burst."
Feel good version, accompanied with the obligatory 'oohs' and 'doohs'.

Mystery Jets - Half In Love With Elizabeth (Delorean Remix)

"Some things, are too painful to say out loud."
Heavy, growling bass that just keeps pounding.

Mystery Jets - Half In Love With Elizabeth (Foamo Remix)

People

Got this in my inbox. Relaxed, yet melodious, the production is practically perfect, goes hand in hand with the track. Love the subtle strings and tambourine. Brilliant.

Dorian - People

Love Etc.

Pet Shop Boys? I know, I know. Just bear with me. This song is intelligent-pop (if it exists) at it's finest. Smooth, listening to it is like pouring honey over your ears. But less messy.

Pet Shop Boys - Love Etc.

Frankmusik gets my vote for best remix. Dubstep and echoey vocals.

I Can't Believe It's Not Blood!

As some of you might know, Fake Blood is Theo Keating. Theo Keating is one half of The Black Ghosts. So some tracks by The Black Ghosts end up being REALLY good. This is one of them.

The Black Ghosts - Any Way You Choose To Give It

The rework by Fake Blood is spot on. Probably one of my favourite remixes of all time. Fidget at it's best.

The Black Ghosts - Any Way You Choose To Give It (Fake Blood Remix)

Broken Digital Clock

Have you ever noticed, that when you don't input a time into a digital clock, the clock always has the default time 88:88?

It's Just A Decoy, Boy

Piano melody? Some Russian dude shouting "One Time (?)". Bass growling in the background. Suspense. Suspense let loose. Heavy, ground-up bass. Indie kids, stay clear. This one's a banger.

Proxy - Decoy

Get Dressed In Dresden

The Hundreds In the Hands. Indie cool mixed with electro smarts. Unsigned? With a track like this? Shouldn't be for long.

David Starfire

The ice formations in this picture represent The Smiths. The purple represents David Starfire. Together they make this purdy picture.

The Smiths - Big Mouth Strikes Again (David Starfire Remix)

Sorry, I'm Calling In Sick

Calling In Sick are a duo hailing from Sydney, Australia. They make fuzzy, distorted remixes, some of which are surprisingly good. Their newest attempt isn't one of their best, but, kid, it ain't half bad.

Grum - Runaway (Calling In Sick Remix)

Something from the archives. A stormer.

Mr Oizo - Patrick 122 (Calling In Sick Remix)

Foamo Blood

I like Fake Blood. He's pretty swell. But, he hasn't released anything new for a while, apart from that preview of his 'Sandstorm' remix. This however, will do for the time being. An offering from up-and-comer Foamo. Wait for the 'Fake Blood-esque' break down at 1:15.

Cagedbaby - Forced (Foamo Remix)

09/16/2007

We all love Danger. It's a fact. He recently released his '09/16/2007' EP, continuing on from his first '09/14/2007' EP. Times are still used instead of track names, but it's Danger, so you can't complain. Here's a new(ish) track.
Get on it.

Welcome

Welcome,

This is going to be the start of a new blog. Sounds spiffy, huh?
